Software Engineering Team Lead at RTGS.global

Alex Wilson began their work experience in 2002 at Nationwide Building Society, where they started as an IT Contractor. Alex then went on to hold various roles in the company, including Systems Developer and Senior Systems Developer. In these roles, they were primarily involved in the development and on-call support team for Nationwide's web-based personal loans point-of-sale application. Alex was also responsible for configuration management of the product and played a part in influencing the company-wide standards and processes.

In 2011, Alex joined IRESS, where they worked as a Senior Developer, Technical Specialist, and ultimately as a Technical Lead. Alex was responsible for driving the technical direction of the IRESS Exchange sourcing portal.

Alex later returned to Nationwide Building Society in 2018 as a Digital Architect & Technology Project Manager, and later as a Technical Lead in the Home Hub team. In this role, they currently lead three engineering squads, focusing on the UK domestic mortgage space.

Most recently, Alex joined RTGS.global in 2023 as a Software Engineering Team Lead.

Alex Wilson's education history begins in 1995 at Dorcan Technology College, where they obtained their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) degree. After completing their education at Dorcan Technology College in 2000, Alex Wilson joined Swindon College from 2000 to 2002. At Swindon College, they pursued an Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

In addition to their formal education, Alex Wilson has obtained several certifications. These include the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification from HashiCorp, the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft. Other certifications obtained by Alex Wilson include the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Web Applications, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Specialist - Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist - .NET Framework 3.5 ASP.NET Applications, and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist - .NET Framework 3.5 Windows Forms Applications.
