Barry O'Flynn's work experience includes various roles in the financial and energy sectors. Barry started their career as Business Development Director in Motion Analysis Corporation from 1997 to 2000. Barry then worked as Business Development Manager in enba plc (factor-e) from 2000 to 2001. In 2002, they joined InterTradeIreland as a Venture Capital Advisory. From 2002 to 2005, they worked in SSE Airtricity in roles related to Corporate Finance and Capital Raising. Barry then moved to Mainstream Renewable Power as Head of EMEA in Corporate Development from 2008 to 2011. At EY, they held the position of Director in Corporate Finance - Energy from 2011 to 2016. Currently, they are a Managing Director at Rubicon Capital Advisors, a global investment banking advisory and asset management firm, since 2016.

Barry O'Flynn has a diverse education history. Barry obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategy and Corporate Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Commercial Research Consultancy in Sports Biomechanics from the University of Calgary from 1995 to 1997. Barry also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, completed from 1994 to 1995. Barry O'Flynn began their educational journey at University College Dublin, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics from 1990 to 1994. Barry completed their secondary education at Clongowes Wood College, where they obtained a Leaving Certificate & Matriculation Exam qualification from 1984 to 1990. In addition to their academic qualifications, Barry O'Flynn has earned certifications as a Member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland in 2022 and as a Fellow of ACCA in 2001.
