General Manager - Software and IT at Rubicon Water

Jason Grant has extensive work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jason started their career in 1994 at Monash University as a Research Assistant, where they developed software for control, monitoring, and data acquisition. Jason also worked as a Research Fellow concurrently with Senior Engineer at TimCo Technologies Inc., where they contributed to the design and implementation of a tomographic scanning solution for the timber industry.

In 1996, Jason joined NEC Australia as a Technical Lead, where they led the design and implementation of an industrial control and monitoring system for telecommunications systems. Jason was responsible for project management, specifications, and timely software delivery.

After that, Jason joined Telstra as a Technical Lead, where they played a key role in delivering IVR systems with a focus on middleware and integration with external systems.

From 1998 to 2000, Jason worked at IBM Global Services as a Technical Lead and Departmental Architect. In these roles, they were responsible for software design, delivery, and technical oversight. Jason scaled teams, systems, and processes and was involved in all aspects of product-oriented software engineering.

In 2001, Jason joined Agentis Software as Chief Architect, overseeing the software architecture team for the development of a greenfield enterprise-grade product offering. The company was a commercial realization of the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute and had notable achievements in space shuttle program coordination.

From 2007 to 2014, Jason served as CIO & CTO at Utiba Mobility, where they led IT and software delivery functions to support billions of mobile financial transactions for millions of users globally. Jason defined and executed the company's IT and technology strategy and had strategic and operational oversight.

From 2014 to 2019, Jason worked at Amdocs as Head Of Engineering, leading technical sites across various locations globally. Jason had functional responsibilities for product lines, technical disciplines, customer support, and solution development. Their role also included managing incident response, customer delivery, and site infrastructure.

Currently, Jason is the General Manager - Software and IT at Rubicon Water. Jason is responsible for global IT&T, product roadmap, and tech strategy. Jason oversees a DevOps team that ships customer solutions and provides maintenance and support. Rubicon Water specializes in water regulation and has strong academic ties and a rich patent portfolio.

Jason Grant completed their education in various institutions. In 1988, they enrolled at Monash University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science degree. During this time, Jason double-majored in Physics and Computer Science, ultimately concluding their studies in 1990. Following their undergraduate studies, Jason continued their academic journey at Monash University, earning a PhD in Physics between 1991 and 1993. Eventually, in 2011, they attended the Carnegie Mellon Heinz CIO Institute for IT Management, completing a program and receiving a degree from the Heinz CIO Institute.
