James Mitchell has worked in various roles in the technology industry since 1993. In 1993, they were the E-Commerce Director at TW2.COM. In 1996, they were the Internet Services Director at AT&T ISTEL Limited, where they managed the Internet Services business unit for AT&T's EMEA division. From 2001 to 2008, they were the Vice President of Engineering at Ephemera Digital Solutions, where they led the software development practice and managed software engineering, networking, and usability teams. From 2008 to 2009, they were the Technical Director at IGN Entertainment, where they ran professional services, software engineering, developer support, and project management teams. From 2009 to 2012, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Napster, a Best Buy company, where they led the technology organization in developing and delivering the Napster music streaming service. From 2012 to 2016, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Zya and the VP of Technology & Engineering at Muve Music. Since 2016, they have been the Chief Technology Officer at Rufus Labs, where they lead hardware and software development teams in building the Rufus Platform.
James Mitchell attended Queen Mary University of London from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a BSc in Economics.
