Frank Saunders

Frank Saunders, Ph.D., is a highly experienced Product Design Engineer at Ruger Firearms since July 2013, contributing significantly to the development of new product platforms and facilitating the transition from design concepts to high-volume production. Previously, as a Manufacturing Engineer, Saunders specialized in fixture and gauge design, CNC programming, and the application of lean manufacturing principles. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at Tufts University from September 2007 to January 2013, where Saunders worked on several NASA and DARPA-funded projects, focusing on conflict detection in cyber-physical systems, bio-mimetic robotics, and feedback control of under-actuated systems. Educational background includes a Ph.D. and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, as well as a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
