Rugged Robotics
Odalys Stocum has been working in the engineering industry since 2014. Odalys began as a Laptop Program Helpdesk Assistant at Bourns College of Engineering, where they assisted undergraduates, graduates, and faculty with downloading and installing software such as Matlab, Solidworks, Ansys, and others provided by BCOE. Odalys also troubleshot VPN, wireless connection problems and passwords, and assisted with the installation of Windows OS, Office and antivirus software. In 2015, they took on the role of Product Engineering Intern at John Deere. In 2016, they became an Embedded Software Engineer at the same company. In 2019, they moved to CACI International Inc, where they worked as an Electrical and Firmware Engineer. Odalys is currently employed as an Electrical Engineer at Rugged Robotics, a position they have held since 2022.
Odalys Stocum attended the University of California, Riverside from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Odalys then returned to the same institution from 2015 to 2016 to earn their Master of Science in Computer Engineering.

Founded by a registered P.E. and a NASA engineer, Rugged Robotics is a Houston-based, construction technology company, aimed at improving labor productivity through the introduction of robotics and automation. Rugged builds hardware enabled solutions to real world problems and is developing a portfolio of robotic platforms for use on commercial construction sites. Each product they offer solves an existing pain-point, performs tangible work, and saves contractors time and money.
