Prof. Dr. Norbert Schwieters

Prof. Dr. Norbert Schwieters serves as a Honorary Professor of Accounting and Auditing at Ruhr University Bochum since February 2017 and operates as a Wirtschaftsprüfer in private practice since July 2020. With extensive experience in professional services starting from his tenure at PwC from 1988 to 2020, where Prof. Dr. Norbert held various leadership roles including Global Leader for Energy, Utilities & Resources, Schwieters also contributes to the World Energy Council as an officer in the Finance Committee and is a member of the Advisory Board at the House of Energy Markets and Finance. Additionally, Schwieters is involved with the WPV – Versorgungswerk der Wirtschaftsprüfer and the representatives' assembly through 2024. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Economics from Ruhr University Bochum, where studies were completed from 1978 to 1988.
