Jean Pierre Trou

Jean Pierre Trou is an experienced architect and design professional, currently serving as CEO and Co-Founder of mbue since May 2022. Trou also holds the position of Founding Principal at Runa Workshop, a design practice specializing in Architecture, Interiors, and Product Design, since August 2009. Previous roles include Lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture, Principal at Trou Studio focusing on contemporary residential and commercial design, and Partner at Vollmer + Trou specializing in furniture and product design. Early career experience includes serving as a Project Designer at Susman Tisdale Gayle, where responsibilities encompassed all project aspects, and as an Intern Architect at Artadi Arquitectos concentrating on residential design. Trou earned a Master’s in Architecture, Design & Theory from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Architecture from Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.
