Emily Steel has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Currently, they are a Senior Product Designer at Runn, starting in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Alphero from November 2018 to March 2022 as a Senior Experience Designer and from August 2015 to November 2018 as an Experience Designer. Emily also gained experience as a User Experience Designer at Touchtech Ltd from May 2015 to August 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Quality Assurance Tester at Resn from December 2014 to May 2015. Before transitioning to the design field, Emily worked as a Licensing Administrator at the Real Estate Agents Authority from December 2009 to January 2015. Emily Steel began their education at Wellington Girls College from 2005 to 2009, where they completed their NCEA Level 3 and studied subjects such as Design, Media Studies, Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry. Emily then attended Victoria University of Wellington from 2010 to 2013, where they completed their Bachelor of Design Innovation with a focus on Media Design. Finally, Emily pursued their Masters of Design Innovation from 2013 to 2015 at Victoria University of Wellington, specializing in wearable technology and gaming focusing on rehabilitation.
