Rural Action is a community development organization working throughout Appalachian Ohio to build thriving communities and healthy environments for all. Our work is driven by our members and the assets in our region. We work with our members and partners to help communities do big things; grow local businesses and jobs; restore our environment; an encourage the next generation of leaders. We do this through 8 sectors; sustainable agriculture, sustainable forestry, energy, watershed restoration, environmental education, social enterprise, entrepreneurial communities, and zero waste. Comprising specialists in water quality, watershed restoration, and environmental remediation, the team works on projects that address issues such as water pollution, abandoned well impacts, and ecological restoration. Their efforts include community outreach, managing restoration projects, and ensuring sustainable and robust environmental stewardship.
