Rural Financial Counselling Service NSW

The Rural Financial Counselling Service was created to provide eligible rural businesses with unbiased, independent, expert, confidential support - to formulate options for the best way forward for their operation. It is an independent, not-for-profit, organisation whose services are provided at no cost to the client - critical for helping those who are in financial stress. Over the years we have successfully helped around 8,000 businesses. We provide clients with information, decision making tools and options to consider how best to take their business forward – perhaps through refinancing a loan, considering new on-farm strategies or accessing assistance from government. We take a holistic view of the client’s business, and our staff understand the farming and family drivers of a client’s business as well as the financial and physical planning requirements they may need to help improve their bottom line. Each client is treated individually using a structured case management approach. Our staff are highly skilled business professionals with a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation of agricultural and rural businesses and the environment in which they operate. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide unbiased support and information, with our top priority being our clients’ needs. They can rest assured that the options we suggest are completely impartial. Because we live and work in the local communities, we have a thorough understanding of and empathy for the people and businesses we work with, and we are committed to achieving the best outcomes for them.
