Laya Chirravuru

Laya Chirravuru is a Design Researcher and Community Engagement Lead at Roots Studio since January 2022, focusing on cultural knowledge facilitation and project management for indigenous artists. Laya has served as a Guest Lecturer at Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien, discussing cultural sustainability in India’s handmade industry. Previous experience includes working as a Fashion Designer at TCNS Clothing Company Ltd, creating contemporary Indian womenswear, and collaborating with Conscious Games as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Laya also completed a design internship at Triburg, contributing to trend research and a capsule collection. Laya holds a Master of Science in Design Research from Hochschule Anhalt and a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi.
