Stephen Ward

Stephen Ward is a highly experienced finance professional with a diverse background in both public sector and consultancy roles. Currently serving as a Project Accountant at Rushmoor Borough Council since July 2021, Stephen has previously held positions including Associate Consultant at Their Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Director of a self-employed venture, and Head of Finance at Brent Council and East Sussex County Council. Stephen has extensive management experience, having led various finance teams and departments, notably as Head of Business Support at Peterborough City Council where strategic leadership was key. A graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in Accounting and Finance, Stephen's career spans over three decades, beginning at Barnsley MBC where multiple senior finance positions were held.
