Stephen Hamlet

Stephen Hamlet is the current CEO of Russell Bedford International. Stephen was previously the Chief Executive Officer of IAPA International from July 2015 to February 2017. IAPA International is a global association of independent accounting and business advisory firms. At the time, it represented 200 members in over 70 countries.

Under Hamlet's leadership, IAPA transformed in just one year. Stephen was acknowledged by the industry and shortlisted as finalist for Association of the Year 2016, as well as being personally shortlisted for Personality of the Year 2016. Stephen delivered a powerful opening speech to members at the 2016 AGM, having developed a new strategy, which was approved by 92% of members. This included a change in dues’ structure which generated an increase in revenue of 30%. Stephen also recruited several new members across the globe, in all regions, increasing overall membership by 10%. In addition, they rebranded and revitalised membership, creating new marketing materials and establishing improved, interactive functionality to enhance member communication.

Stephen developed a new website which was critically acclaimed by members and other organisations. Stephen also launched a YouTube channel, hosting several videos of events, including personally presenting on a new corporate promotional video. Stephen consolidated communications to members by launching a newsletter called “Dispatchwork”, offering regular and comprehensive news updates. This also acted as a valuable recruitment tool. Stephen created a PR presence with exposure to accounting press, which was previously unreached, by becoming the “go-to” person for the mid-tier association. Stephen Hamlet is a qualified ACA / FCA from the ICAEW and has a LLB (Hons) from the University of Exeter. Stephen also has 3 'A' Levels in Economics, Mathematics and Spanish, as well as 9 GCSEs.
