Mary-Caroline Tillman is one of the most experienced CEO succession advisors in the Financial Services Industry, with a unique perspective and ability to calibrate existing and potential CEO talent internationally. Based in New York, she currently serves as Global Industry Co-Leader on the Senior Leadership Team and is a member of the Global Executive Committee at Russell Reynolds Associates. Previously, she served as the firm’s Global Co-Leader of the Financial Services Sector.

As a trusted advisor to many clients around the world, Mary Caroline focuses on identifying, developing, and placing senior talent, many of whom are emerging, forward-looking, untapped leaders. She also helps companies with some of their most important strategic needs, including value creation, achieving their purpose, and implementing changes that will ensure long-term success. This includes strategic advice on transformation, DE&I, ESG, board and C-suite placements and succession planning, assessment and development, cultural diagnostics, team and board effectiveness. Mary-Caroline has nearly two decades of search and assessment experience.

Before RRA, she held several senior roles at another global executive search firm, including Global Head of Financial Services and Global Head of Investment Banking sector. Earlier in her career, Mary- Caroline spent 13 years at J.P. Morgan based in New York and London where she was a Managing Director and COO of the European Investment Banking division, having previously been in the M&A team covering the consumer products industry.

Mary Caroline holds a BCom from the University of Alberta and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Mary Caroline was nominated for the prestigious Woman of the Year award in London, is involved in charity work, and mentors several female executives across the globe. In addition, she is regularly sought after to provide insights on the industry and leadership by the media and academia including Reuters, Bloomberg, WSJ, HBS, Financial Times, The Times, The Economist, The Telegraph, The Independent, among others.
