BJ Powell

BJ Powell has extensive work experience in the construction industry. BJ'smost recent position was as a Project Executive at Russell Co. starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Executive, Data Centers/Mission Critical at Black & Veatch from August 2021 to November 2022. From October 2019 to August 2021, they were a Project Executive at McCownGordon Construction. Before that, they held various roles at Centric, including Project Leader from September 2019 to October 2019, and Senior Project Manager from November 2017 to September 2019. BJ also worked as a Senior Project Manager at Brinkmann Constructors from August 2016 to October 2017, and at The Weitz Company from September 2010 to August 2016, where they held the position of Senior Project Manager and Project Manager. Prior to that, they worked as an Instructor at Associated Builders and Contractors from 1998 to 2008, and as a Project Manager at Channel Construction Company from March 2003 to March 2004, and at Dickey and Burham, Inc. from May 1996 to March 2003.

BJ Powell completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Construction Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1996. In addition to their degree, they have acquired various certifications throughout their career. BJ became Procore Certified in several areas, including Superintendent, Project Manager in Financial Management, Project Manager in Project Management, Project Manager in Quality & Safety, and Project Manager in Core Tools. These certifications were obtained from Procore Technologies between October and December 2019. Furthermore, BJ Powell completed the Project Management Academy from FMI in April 2018 and obtained LEED AP Building Design & Construction (BD+C) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in June 2008.
