Eric Garcia

Eric Garcia is an accomplished software engineering professional with extensive experience in leadership and development roles. Currently serving as a Software Engineering Manager at Meta since September 2021, Eric has also been a member of the Department of Computer Science External Advisory Board at Texas Tech University since February 2025 and a Board Member at the Rust Foundation since March 2022. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Intel Corporation from 2011 to 2021, where Eric held positions including Senior Software Engineering Manager and Chief of Staff in the Developer Products Division. Earlier career highlights include an Automation Specialist role at IBM and a research internship with NASA at the Ames Research Center. Eric earned a PhD and M.S. in Computer Science from Texas Tech University and a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Angelo State University.
