Elysia Khalil, MPA, currently serves as the Education Coordinator, Community Engagement Manager, and Operations Manager at Ruth Ellis Center, where contributions have been made since November 2020. Elysia is also the Owner & Operator of ECKO Offerings, providing a range of personal contract-based services, including event facilitation and wellness practices. Previous experience includes roles as Program Coordinator at Center Line Public Schools, Business Analyst for Oakland County, Community Conversation Scribe for The Center for Michigan, and Fundraising and Development Officer for the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. Elysia holds a Master of Public Administration from Oakland University and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Over a 21+ year history, REC has established a national reputation for quality and innovation in providing trauma-informed services for LGBTQ youth and young adults, with an emphasis on youth of color. What began as a 500-square-foot safe space in Highland Park, MI has evolved into a multi-faceted organization, providing outreach and safety-net services, integrated primary & behavioral health care services and case management, skill-building workshops, HIV prevention programs, family preservation programming, and housing resource. MISSION Creating opportunities with LGBTQ+ young people to build their vision for a positive future. VISION A world where LGBTQ+ young people are safe and supported no matter where they show up.
