With over 36 years of experience at Rutherford + Chekene, Wayne has served as principal structural engineer on a variety of prominent projects including the Kaiser Vallejo Replacement Hospital, the Kaiser Redwood City Replacement Hospital, and the San Jose State University Recreation and Aquatic Center.

At R+C, Wayne has been instrumental in launching the Building Systems Group (BSG) which has revolutionized the concept of MEP industrial bracing and provides an integral part of the integrated project delivery procedure in the early design phase of the project, without requiring deferred approval. BSG has created value for the company and clients by providing efficient design, speedy agency approval, and flexibility in material selection, which has resulted in overall schedule and cost reduction. BSG is the MEP bracing Structural Engineer of Record for Marin General Replacement Hospital (HCAI), the UCSF Precision Cancer Medical Building, and the Community Regional Medical Center Replacement Hospital in Fresno.
