Mathew Waik

Mathew Waik is an experienced communications professional currently serving as Communications Service Manager and Strategic Communications Advisor at Rutland County Council since September 2014. In this role, Mathew leads all communications efforts, ensuring effective interaction among the local authority, residents, and various stakeholders including national and regional organizations and the media. Prior to this, Mathew held positions such as Community Coordinator at Kiddicare, where responsibilities included managing social media campaigns, and Communications Officer at Kidney Research UK, focusing on media relations and compliance with brand guidelines. Mathew began a career in communications as an Account Executive at Tribe PR, supporting diverse clients through media relations. Mathew holds a BA in Politics and the Media from the University of East Anglia and GCE Advanced Levels in English, Politics, and History from Stamford Endowed School.
