Columnist: History at Rutland Herald

Joanna Tebbs Young, MA, MFA, serves as the Director of Chittenden Public Library and has been a columnist on history for Rutland Herald since September 2021. As a Teaching Artist with Transformative Language Arts Network since August 2015, Joanna has conducted various classes aimed at educators and writers. Furthermore, Joanna holds the position of Certificate & Publication Manager at Vermont Humanities Council and has facilitated the Literature & Medicine program. Past experiences include serving as a Circulation Assistant at Rutland Free Library and working as a Transformative Writing Facilitator through Wisdom Within, Ink. Joanna's educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Goddard College and a Master of Arts in Transformative Language Arts/Women's Studies/Religion & Spirituality, also from Goddard College.

One of the oldest newspapers in the United States, published under the same name in the same city, since 1794. The Herald is the paper of record for south/central Vermont, with reporting and readers in Rutland, Windsor, Windham, Addison and Bennington Counties. With its sister paper, the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, the Herald operates the statehouse news service the Vermont Press Bureau.
