Elizabeth Lawton has extensive experience in the legal and governance field. Elizabeth began their career as General Counsel and Company Secretary at Home Building Society, where they provided legal and secretariat support to the Chairman, Board, MD, and Executive team. Elizabeth then joined Wesfarmers as an Assistant Company Secretary, providing secretariat support to various boards within the corporation. Elizabeth went on to work as a Legal Counsel at Emeco Holdings, delivering quality corporate and commercial advice to management. Elizabeth later became a Legal Counsel at HVLV Pty Ltd, where they provided legal and commercial advice to the management team. Elizabeth then served as General Counsel and Company Secretary at P&N Bank Limited and Brightwater Care Group Ltd, where they coordinated the organizational response to significant legislative changes and drafted large responses and submissions to regulators. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Legal, Governance, and Risk Officer at Racing and Wagering Western Australia, where they ensure best practice corporate governance, compliance with relevant legislation, and oversight of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing compliance.
