Kyle Flavin has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Kyle is currently serving as the Director of DevOps at RxVantage, where they are responsible for planning and implementing DevOps and infrastructure projects, managing the DevOps team, and collaborating with various teams for technical initiatives. Kyle also oversees the company's app infrastructure, including databases, servers, source control, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud accounts. Additionally, they take charge of the company's security posture and manages production deployments.
Prior to their current role, Kyle worked as a Senior Cloud Architect and Software Engineer/Security at RxVantage, where they focused on CI/CD implementation using Kubernetes and other technologies. Kyle also played a vital role in improving AWS account structure and implementing monitoring and logging solutions.
Before joining RxVantage, Kyle was the Owner and Technical Director of UHND.com, where they managed development and systems and handled a high volume of unique visitors and page views. Kyle utilized Python, PHP, MySQL, and jQuery for website development.
Kyle also had a stint at LogMeIn as a Staff Software Engineer and later as a Senior Tools Engineer. In these roles, they built tools for the product team's CI/CD process, conducted trainings and tech talks, and worked closely with team leaders and engineers. Kyle also led the development of a docker-based deployment platform using various technologies.
At Citrix, Kyle worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer and Python Developer, contributing to the automation of internal cloud provisioning using RabbitMQ and collaborating with the CI/CD tools team.
Earlier in their career, Kyle served as a Senior Systems Engineer at Warner Bros. Advanced Digital Services and NBC Universal. At Warner Bros., they led a team and developed a patching solution using Python and VMware snapshots. At NBC Universal, they provided L3 support for critical applications, developed user auditing applications, and worked on server design and deployment projects.
Kyle's work experience also includes a position as a Systems Administrator at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging, where they deployed extensive SAN storage and utilized various programming languages.
Lastly, Kyle began their career as a Software Engineering Intern at The Boeing Company, where they worked on frontend interfaces for embedded software projects.
Kyle Flavin completed their education at California State University, Northridge. Kyle earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from 2000 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, Kyle has obtained various certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in October 2014, the Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator and Red Hat Certified Open Stack Administrator from Red Hat in October 2014 and August 2014 respectively, the Red Hat Deployment, Virtualization and Systems Management Certificate of Expertise in November 2013, CCNA certification from Cisco in September 2013, Red Hat Performance Tuning in September 2013, CCENT certification from Cisco in April 2013, and Red Hat Certified Engineer in January 2010.
