Sophia Nurani has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the healthcare and public health sectors. Sophia is currently working as the Assistant Director for Community Health at Ryan Health since April 2022. Prior to this, Sophia served as a Nurse Practitioner at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center starting from December 2015. Sophia also has experience as a Nurse Practitioner at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services from September 2013 to May 2015. Sophia began their career as a Psychiatric Registered Nurse at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center from 2010 to 2013. Before that, they worked as a Project Director at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene from November 2005 to June 2009. Sophia also gained experience as a Program Officer at Population Services International in 2004 and as a Program Coordinator at Citizens Committee for New York City from October 2001 to July 2004.
Sophia Nurani's education history begins in 1994 when they enrolled at Columbia University and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Spanish. This educational pursuit lasted until 1997.

Sophia's next degree pursuit occurred in 2010 when they enrolled at the University of California, San Francisco. This time, their focus was on becoming an HIV Nurse Practitioner, and they worked towards a Master of Science degree. In 2012, they completed their studies and obtained their MS degree in HIV Nurse Practitioner from the University of California, San Francisco.
