Mike Johnson

Mike Johnson is Managing Director of Trident Marine Managers (Trident), a member company of RSG Underwriting Managers. Trident is a leading specialty marine and offshore energy Managing General Underwriter serving the needs of the maritime industry in the U.S for over 35 years.

Mike started his career with Trident as a Marine Casualty Underwriter in 2000, writing business on behalf of XL Specialty Insurance and later OneBeacon Insurance Company along with various Lloyd’s syndicates.

In 2006, Mike became Executive Vice President at Trident and in 2011, Mike was promoted to Managing Director.

Prior to joining Trident, Mike was underwriting marine and offshore energy business at Navigators Insurance Company in Houston for six years.

Before developing a successful career in insurance, Mike was handling finance and budgeting responsibilities with Continental Airlines and then Hoyer Terminal Services.

Mike is a 1988 graduate of Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Finance.
