Paul Aasmundstad

Paul Aasmundstad has extensive work experience in data governance and management. Paul is currently the Director of Data Governance at Ryan Specialty, starting in 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at EXL as the Senior AVP and Global Head of Data Governance Consulting from 2019 to 2023. Paul also served as the Data Governance Competency Director at Datasource Consulting, an EXL company, from 2019 to 2023. Before that, they were the Data Governance Director at Athene USA from 2017 to 2018. From 2015 to 2017, Paul held the position of Data Governance IT Audit Manager and AVP at Wells Fargo. Paul started their career at Emerson Process Management in 2007, where they held multiple roles including Enterprise Business Intelligence Systems Architect, North America IT Infrastructure Manager, and Database Administration Supervisor. Paul has a diverse background, with various roles in database, technology, and business from 1993 to 2007.

Paul Aasmundstad has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Business Intelligence Concentration from Southern New Hampshire University. Paul also holds a Master's Degree in Data Analytics from the same institution. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of Iowa. Additionally, Paul has earned several certifications, including DCAM v2.2 Certified from the EDM Council in 2022, Collibra Expert Level III from Collibra in 2020, Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) from ISACA in 2016, and MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 from Microsoft in 2013.
