James M. Trester

James M. Trester is the Principal of Transaction Tax at Ryan. James has over 30 years of experience in the tax industry. Prior to joining Ryan, they were a Tax Manager at Grant Thornton LLP and BDO USA, LLP. James also owned their own tax consulting business, Trester Consulting, for two years. James began their career as a Large Case Field Auditor for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. James is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

James M. Trester has a Masters in Science in Taxation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.
