James Thompson

James Thompson is a chartered surveyor with 40 years of experience in Business Rates across the UK and Eire. Currently, they serve as the Director of Property Tax at Ryan, focusing on providing rating advice for a variety of specialist properties. Previously, Thompson held director positions at BNP Paribas Real Estate and Deloitte Real Estate, where they led business rates teams and offered consultancy on technical rating issues. Thompson earned an MA in Maths Physics and Land Economy from the University of Cambridge and received the RICS Special Diploma in Rating in 1999, becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Revenues, Rating & Valuation in 2012.
