Richard Sidebottom is an experienced professional in the field of historic preservation, currently serving as Director of Historic Tax Credits at Ryan since February 2022. Prior to this role, Richard was a Partner and Director at MacRostie Historic Advisors LLC from December 2010 to March 2022, where the focus was on strategic tax credit certification for historic rehabilitation projects. Richard's expertise also includes teaching as an Adjunct Professor in the Clemson/College of Charleston Joint Graduate Program in Historic Preservation, and owning Sidebottom Preservation. Earlier in Richard's career, significant experience was gained as Supervisor of Compliance, Tax Incentive and Outreach Programs at the SC State Historic Preservation Office. Richard holds a Master of Architectural History/Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts in History/Classical Studies from Emory University.
