Carol Sharkey is the current Chief Risk Officer at [Ryanair](/org/ryanair). Prior to their current role, John served as the Vice President of Engineering & Product Operations at [Houghton Mifflin Harcourt](/org/houghton-mifflin-harcourt) from April 2007 to September 2014. Their previous experience also includes working as a Production Manager at Intuition Publishing Ltd. from January 2003 to December 2007 and Educational Multimedia Group from January 1999 to December 2003.

John Hurley received their Master's Degree in Computer Software Engineering from University College Cork. John also holds a Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering from University College Cork.

David was appointed Joint CEO Lauda in April 2020, having served as [Ryanair](/org/ryanair)’s CCO since January 2014.
