Matthias Amthor

Matthias Amthor has a diverse work experience in the defense industry. Matthias currently holds the position of Vice President and Head of Strategy & Business Development at Saab Deutschland since January 2022. Before that, they were the Director of Marketing & Sales Air at Saab from September 2020 to December 2021. Prior to joining Saab, Matthias worked as the Capability Development Manager at NATO - NETMA from March 2016 to August 2020. Matthias also served in various roles within the Luftwaffe - German Airforce, including Chief Electronic Warfare Section and Department Head of TORNADO & A/S weapons. Matthias has also worked as an Instructor at BAE Systems Saudi Arabia, 83rd Sqn, Royal Saudi Air Force for a brief period in 2012. Additionally, they held the positions of Department Head of Eurofighter Weapons & Sensors and Executive Officer at Luftwaffe - German Airforce, Weapon Systems Command.

Matthias Amthor completed their education as follows:

- From 2019 to 2021, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

- In 2014 and 2015, they attended the German Air Force Electronic Warfare Center, where they completed courses in EW basic, intermediate & advanced, tactical application, active & passive.

- In 2010, they graduated from the Military Academy of the German Armed Forces, specializing in Management, Defence policies, and Leadership.

- In 2009, they completed a Fighter Weapons Instructor course at the German Air Force Fighter Weapons School in Holloman AFB, NM, USA.

- In 2007, they attended the German Air Force Flying Training Center in Holloman AFB, NM, USA and completed the Tornado Instructor Course.

- In 2006, they became a Flight Safety Officer after training at the German Air Force Flight Safety Directorate.

- In 2002, they undertook the Tornado transition course at the German Air Force Flying Training Center in Holloman AFB, NM, USA.

- From 2000 to 2001, they received training as a Naval Flight Officer from the US Navy.
