Anas Mohammed has a diverse background in environmental management, civil engineering, and environmental law. Currently, Anas serves as a Project Lead and Project Coordinator at Saahas, working on a NAMA Facility funded project with GIZ India and Trichy City Corporation. Anas is also the Founder & Managing Trustee of Nin Nalam, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the livelihood of abandoned farmer families in Tamil Nadu. Previously, Anas has held positions such as Consumer Awareness Coordinator at PGSOC, Co-Founder of myHarvest Farms, and Director of Operations at myharvest. Anas has also volunteered at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Accenture.

Saahas was registered under the Society’s Act in 2001. We are based in Bangalore and committed to finding solutions to problems related to solid waste. Our organisation has studied the Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling Rules) 2000 and we believe that it provides excellent guidelines for improving the existing situation of solid waste management in the city. OUR OBJECTIVES At Saahas we are working towards Implementation of the Municipal Solid Waste Management and Handling Rules Reduction in use and throw products like plastic carry bags, paper cups and tissues Encouraging waste segregation at source and retrieval of recyclable material Encouraging the composting of organic waste Introducing safe management of e-Waste in households, companies and schools
