Yash Shah has been working in the field of data science since 2011. Yash began their career as a Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer - Analytics Lead at Union Pacific Railroad. During this time, they designed a dynamic programming algorithm in Java to optimize the Fuel Plan for trains, implemented a minimum cost flow distribution approach to balance locomotives, designed and developed a quantitative staffing model using various regression models, and implemented Bayes Classifiers for employee fraud risk profiling. Yash also led a team of developers to implement and maintain a mission critical Java Web application. In 2015, they began working as a Data Scientist at Domtar, where they worked on Media Investment & Customer Segmentation with Customer Lifetime - B. T. Y. In 2019, they became an Architect Data Science at PPD. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Co-Founder at Saanketh Sound Analytics.
Yash Shah completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Computer Science from Dharmsinh Desai University. Yash then pursued a Master's degree in Applied Statistics from Penn State University, which they completed in 2016. Prior to this, Yash earned a degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of Michigan in 2011. In addition, they obtained a certification in Tackling the Challenges of Big Data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in April 2016.
