Olivier Maeterlinck has extensive experience in corporate communication, cultural affairs, and legal affairs. Olivier started their career at IFPI Belgium in 1999, where they held various legal roles, including Head of Legal Affairs. Olivier later worked at BVF-IFPI Belgium as a Director before joining BEA - Belgian Entertainment Association as an MVA. In 2018, they joined SABAM, where they held roles such as Manager of corporate communication and marketing, Head of corporate communication & members relations, and currently serves as Head of corporate communication & cultural affairs. Olivier was also a member of Online fair play in 2016.

Olivier Maeterlinck earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Public Law from Ghent University from 1990 to 1997. Olivier then pursued a Master's degree in Intellectual Property Law at KU Leuven from 2003 to 2005, followed by an Executive master in Business Administration and Management, General at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management from 2005 to 2006.
