Julien Cathelin

Julien Cathelin is a Sr. Technical Development Engineer at SABIC, where responsibilities include application development and technical support for the DACH-Benelux region, focusing on identifying new business opportunities and handling customer complaints. Previously, Julien served as a CAE Engineer specializing in thermoplastic component design and mechanical performance evaluation. Julien's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from INSA Lyon, where significant research involved fiber-reinforced plastics, friction characterization, and mechanical simulations. Additional experience includes roles as a Teaching Assistant and R&D Engineer, alongside an internship at SKF improving bearing service life and optimizing production standards. Julien holds multiple degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Thermal Energy from INSA Lyon and has also studied at RWTH Aachen University.
