Mark Drewes has extensive experience in educational program administration, currently serving as Director of Region 3 Expanded Learning Programs and Regional Lead at the Sacramento County Office of Education since May 2001. Responsibilities include designing and implementing after-school programs, coordinating professional development, and managing program evaluation activities. Previous roles include Reading Implementation Coordinator, where Mark managed statewide training programs and supervised distribution of reading assessments to numerous districts, and Project Specialist II Manager, involved in supporting training for teachers and administrators. Earlier experience at the San Francisco Unified School District included serving as a 6th grade special educator and department chair. Mark holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from San Francisco State University.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices of education in California. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services which complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. SCOE provides technical assistance, curriculum and instructional support, staff development, legal and financial advice, and oversight to Sacramento County school districts.
