Kari Ida

Kari Ida is the current VP of Communications & Public Relations for the Sacramento Kings. Kari has over four years of experience in public affairs and communication, most notably serving as the Director of Public Affairs and Communication for Sierra Health Foundation from November 2014 to September 2018. In this role, Kari led on areas of communications, public affairs, and related policy issues for the foundation and its nonprofit operating arm, The Center.

Kari managed all aspects of communications for the foundation, including the development and distribution of print and electronic materials, news releases, media advisories, fact sheets, social media content, videos, and staff remarks. Kari also advised the executive team and program staff on communications strategies for initiatives and programs, and oversaw the implementation of communication plans. In addition, Kari was responsible for maintaining the foundation’s corporate and program identity standards, providing communications assistance to grantees, representing the foundation at community and grantee events, reviewing and editing internal and external documents, and participating on event planning teams.

During their time at Sierra Health Foundation, Kari also successfully executed a rebranding campaign for both organizations. As a result of their efforts in building positive relationships with media outlets, they regularly met with members of the media to develop stories and maintain relations. In addition to their work with the foundation’s communications, Kari also managed the foundation’s Conference and Education Center, which included coordinating a speaker series.
