Traci Canfield

Senior Manager, Transit Oriented Development and Real Estate at Sacramento Regional Transit District

Traci Canfield has a diverse and extensive work experience in the public sector. Traci started their career in 1989 as a Graduate Trainee at the City of Sacramento, where they collected and analyzed data for the city's Housing Element.

In 1991, they moved on to the County of Sacramento, where they served as the Residential Diversion Programs Promotions Manager. In this role, they developed public information and media campaigns to meet state mandates, and also managed various outreach and promotional activities.

Starting from 1998, Traci worked at URS as a Senior Public Involvement/Outreach Coordinator. Their responsibilities included managing public participation contracts for environmental restoration programs at military bases. Traci oversaw tasks such as developing community relations plans, producing informative materials, organizing public meetings, and coordinating with different stakeholders.

In 2003, Traci joined Sacramento Regional Transit. Traci initially served as a Community Relations Specialist, acting as a liaison between the district and various community groups. Traci then transitioned to become a Planner, overseeing the development of new light rail stations and working with developers on transit-oriented development projects. Later, they were promoted to the role of Senior Strategic Planner, and most recently, they have been serving as the Senior Manager of Transit Oriented Development and Real Estate.

Traci's work experience demonstrates their expertise in strategic planning, community relations, public involvement, and project management within the public sector.

Traci Canfield's education history includes three notable periods of study. From 1988 to 1990, they attended California State University-Sacramento, where they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics. After a gap in their education, they pursued further studies from 2009 to 2011 at the University of California, Davis. Here, they obtained a Certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning. More recently, from 2020 to 2021, Traci attended American River College, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Real Estate.
