Executive Director, Office Of Sponsored Programs at Sacred Heart University

Funda Alp began their work experience in 1997 as the Director of Communications at the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association. Funda established the association's first public relations department and was responsible for overseeing internal and external communication programs. In 2003, Funda Alp joined Sacred Heart University as the Director of Communications. Funda worked closely with the Executive Director of Public Relations to plan and execute communications activities, manage the development and dissemination of content, and support the university's strategic communications and goals. In 2011, Funda Alp was promoted to the role of Executive Director of Public Relations, where they led the university's comprehensive communications initiatives and managed a team of five staff members. In 2015, Funda Alp became the Executive Director of the Office of Sponsored Programs at Sacred Heart University, where they managed the university's foundation relations and government grants programs and sought funding to support sponsored projects on campus. Funda also provided ongoing stewardship and management of gifts and grants.

Funda Alp has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Sacred Heart University, which they obtained in 2017. Funda also completed a Crisis Leadership in Higher Education program at Harvard Kennedy School in 2011. Additionally, they attended a Management Training Workshop at Cornell University in 2004. Funda Alp's undergraduate studies were in Political Science, and they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sacred Heart University in 1991.
