Chris P.

Chris P. has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1998, they worked at Clarica, initially in the helpdesk role and then as a programmer. In 2000, they joined AFP Wealth Management as an SQL programmer before transitioning to Financial Models Company as a Business Analyst/Product Manager. From 2001 to 2003, they worked at the Stratford Festival Theatre as an SQL Programmer, responsible for creating and modifying stored procedures, maintaining database environments, and designing utilities and programs. In 2003, they joined Citibank as a DBA and then moved to Manulife Financial in 2006 as a Senior DBA. In 2008, they took on the role of an instructor at Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, where they stayed until 2010. Chris then joined Pythian, where they held various positions, including Senior DBA, Principal Consultant & Manager of The Advanced Technology Consulting Group, Director of Consulting, and Director of Consulting, Solutions Architecture, and Big Data. During their time at Pythian, they were involved in providing consulting services, managing teams, creating marketing content, and hosting the Datascape Podcast. In 2021, they joined SADA as the Manager, Solutions Architecture and later served as the Regional Director of Solutions Architecture. Currently, they hold the position of Director, Managed Services Data.

Chris P. completed a program in Microcomputer Management at Canadore College from 1995 to 1998, focusing on IT. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Professional Data Engineer certification from Google Cloud in September 2021. Chris also completed various courses on Google Cloud Platform and data analysis through Coursera, including Serverless Data Analysis with Google BigQuery and Cloud Dataflow, Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals, and Leveraging Unstructured Data with Cloud Dataproc on Google Cloud Platform.
