Shannon Terry

Vice President of National Strategic Accounts at SAFARI Montage

Shannon Terry has a diverse range of work experience in the education sector. Starting in 1989, they worked as a Kindergarten Teacher and later as a Parent Educator at the Garland Independent School District. In 1992, they became a Curriculum Specialist at Fort Worth ISD and then an Assistant Principal. In 1993, they briefly served as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Woman's University. From 1994 to 1995, they were a Director of Bilingual Education/ESL Programs at Garland ISD before moving on to become a National Consultant at Modern Red School House. In 1997, they became an Assistant Director of Bilingual Education/ESL Programs, and in 2000 they were promoted to Director of the same department. In 2002, they joined the Arlington ISD as the Director of Professional Learning. From 2015 to 2018, they held the role of Executive Director of Professional and Digital Learning at the Dallas Independent School District. In 2020, they transitioned to the Texas Education Agency, where they worked as a Division Director of Program Integration Strategy until 2022. Currently, they are the Vice President of National Strategic Accounts at SAFARI Montage.

Shannon Terry holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership, which was obtained from Lamar University between the years 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, Shannon earned a Mid-management Administrator Certification in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Texas Christian University, spanning from 1993 to 1995. Additionally, Shannon completed a Master's degree in Bilingual, Multilingual, and Multicultural Education at Southern Methodist University from 1991 to 1993.

In terms of additional certifications, Shannon obtained a Mid-Management Administrator (PK-12) certification from the Texas State Board of Educator Certification in August 1995. Furthermore, Shannon holds a Bilingual/ESL (PK-6) certification from the same institution, which was acquired in June 1989. It is worth noting that Shannon also possesses an Elementary Self-Contained (PK-6) Texas Teacher Certificate, although the exact details of when and where it was obtained are unavailable.
