Juliana Rotich

Juliana Rotich is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology and innovation, currently serving as an AI Ethics Board Member at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation since September 2023. As the Head of Department for Fintech Solutions at Safaricom PLC since March 2022, Rotich has demonstrated leadership in financial technology. Additionally, Rotich holds several advisory roles, including positions on the advisory boards of Atlas AI, Girl Effect, and Blue Consulting, as well as serving on the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board since 2015, appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. With a background as a Venture Partner at Atlantica Ventures and as a Non-Executive Director at Standard Group PLC, Rotich has significantly influenced startup ecosystems and media landscapes in Kenya. Previous experience includes co-founding Boya Inc and contributing to the Ministry of ICT, Innovation & Youth Affairs' taskforce focused on blockchain and AI. Rotich's academic credentials include a certification from the MIT Media Lab and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
