Bernadette Austin

Bernadette Austin has been a director at SAFE since 2019. Prior to that, they were an associate director/acting director at the UC Davis Center for Regional Change from 2016 to 2019. Before that, they were a project manager at Domus Development LLC from 2012 to 2015, and before that they were a principal at Bernadette Austin Consulting Services. Bernadette has also served on the executive board of the Sacramento District Council of the Urban Land Institute from 2014 to 2021.

Bernadette Austin holds a Masters in Community Development from the University of California, Davis and a Bachelor's in Community Health from Saint Mary's College of California. Bernadette is certified by the National Development Council as an Economic Development Finance Professional and is currently working towards a certification in Housing Development Finance Professional.
