Robert Armstrong, P.Eng, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Robert has held various positions in companies such as Safe Fleet, YourHouseTech, Provincial Health Services Authority, MDA, EComm-911, BC Hydro, Nokia, Ericsson, and Motorola.

At Safe Fleet, they served as the Director of Hardware and Software QA. In this role, they led the quality initiatives across all sites and business units, including supplier quality, manufacturing process quality control, software quality, hardware/embedded firmware quality, artificial intelligence/machine learning QA, cloud infrastructure QA, quality systems, and change management.

As the Principal Owner of YourHouseTech, Robert managed a part-time business specializing in home and commercial audiovisual integration and automation.

During their tenure at the Provincial Health Services Authority, they worked as a Senior IT Infrastructure Project Manager (contractor). Their responsibilities included leading multidisciplinary IT infrastructure projects, technical coordination during implementation, business case development, project planning, risk management, budgeting, and resource planning.

At MDA, Robert held the position of Senior Team Manager - Enterprise Geospatial Solutions/Smart City. Robert played a key role in pursuing new business opportunities, leading work streams, conducting business solution requirements solicitation workshops, and developing business design specifications.

As the Manager of Engineering Services at EComm-911, they successfully led a team through a $100+ million-dollar radio network upgrade project. Their responsibilities included multidisciplinary technical project management, organizational quality management, planning, engineering, design, implementation, and ensuring adherence to quality and service level agreements.

At BC Hydro, Robert served as the QA Program Manager/Team Manager - Smart Metering Infrastructure. Robert developed the entire quality assurance and design validation toolset and process for a $1 billion-dollar Smart Metering Infrastructure Program.

At Nokia, they held various roles such as MGP R&D Delivery Manager, QA Manager, R&D Manager, Technical Support Manager, SW Build & Release Manager, Systems Engineer, and functional Line Manager. Robert successfully built new teams and introduced associated processes.

Robert also worked at Ericsson as a Senior RF Systems Engineer, responsible for radio system aspects of the E-Comm emergency dispatch system. Robert handled RF site design issues, including site selection, propagation analysis, frequency planning, and traffic analysis.

During their time at Motorola, Robert worked as a Systems Engineer and Project Manager, providing technical sales support for DataTAC, a wireless data network.

Robert Armstrong, P.Eng, PMP has a strong educational background in engineering and technology. Robert earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Honors Digital Systems Design from Simon Fraser University in 1989. Robert further pursued their studies at The University of British Columbia, where they obtained a BApSc in Electrical Engineering in 1993. To expand their knowledge in data communications and computer science, they completed a Technology Diploma at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1995. In addition to their formal education, Robert holds various certifications, including P.Eng from APEGBC and certifications in ITIL v3 Foundations, PMP, Scrum Master Certified (SMC), and Six Sigma Greenbelt in DFSS and DMAIC from Nokia.
