Debbie Weir

Director at Safe Kids Worldwide

Debbie Weir is the Director at Safe Kids Worldwide, a position they have held since March of 2022. Prior to their current role, Debbie served as the Chief Mission Officer at Everytown for Gun Safety from November of 2017 to March of 2022. In this role, Debbie was responsible for advancing Everytown's mission with a trauma-informed lens, both internally with staff and volunteers with Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, and externally with national, state, and local stakeholders. Additionally, Debbie built the Everytown Survivor Network, connecting survivors of gun violence to each other and offering trauma-informed programs and support.

Before their time at Everytown, Debbie served as the Chief of Everytown's Survivor Network. In this role, Debbie connected survivors of gun violence to direct services and support, and helped survivors become advocates for gun safety.

Debbie has dedicated their career to fighting gun violence and supporting survivors. Debbie is a passionate advocate for common-sense gun safety measures that can help save lives.

Debbie Weir has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Longwood University. Debbie is certified from TX Licensing in LMSW.
