Rebecca Chao

Rebecca Chao is a dedicated School Counselor and Therapist (MFTi) at Sterne School, where since August 2012, Rebecca has utilized Somatic and various modalities to support middle-school students, teachers, and parents, particularly focusing on children with mild to moderate learning differences. In addition, Rebecca has been providing individualized and couples psychotherapy to university students at Golden Gate University since June 2012, employing both Somatic Practices and traditional talk therapy. As an MFT intern at the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center since 2007, Rebecca offers bilingual counseling in Mandarin Chinese and specializes in play therapy for children. Rebecca Chao holds a certificate in Parent-Child Dyadic Psychotherapy from the Child Trauma Research Project at S.F. General Hospital, a Master's in Counseling with a focus on Somatic Psychotherapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and a Bachelor’s Degree encompassing Psychology, Marketing, and Asian American History from New York University.
