Bill Oakes

Bill Oakes has over 40 years of diverse manufacturing experience in various industries such as machining, optics, thin film coatings, lasers, and class III medical devices. Bill has focused on the science of manufacturing and the development and application of models and tools for operational excellence. Bill is experienced in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, having been a certified Lean Sigma Master Black Belt with a Fortune 100 medical device company.

In their most recent role as Chief Operating Officer at safeBVM since August 2022, they are responsible for overseeing the company's operations.

Before that, Bill worked as an Operations Management Consultant at Sonoma Lean Solutions from November 2018 to the present, where they provided expertise in lean manufacturing and process improvement.

From October 2013 to November 2018, Bill served as the Director of Operations Engineering at Endologix, Inc. In this role, they were responsible for sustaining engineering, process development, continuous improvement, and new product introduction.

Prior to that, from October 2005 to October 2013, Bill held two roles at Medtronic Cardiovascular. Firstly, as the Lean Sigma Deployment Leader, where they focused on implementing Lean Sigma principles across the organization. Secondly, as an Engineering Manager from August 2006 to August 2011.

Bill's career at JDSU spanned from January 1982 to October 2005, where they served as an Engineering Manager.

Bill Oakes attended Sonoma State University from 1990 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics.
