Andrew Bate has worked in a variety of roles in the business and technology sectors. Andrew began their career in 1998 as the Founder and CEO of Project Profile, a lunch search engine. In 2004, they joined McKinsey & Company as an Analyst. From 2009-2010, they worked as a Research Associate at The Wharton School and a Strategist at Razorfish. In 2012, they founded HotelUpgrade, a platform that allows hotels to compete for stays of five nights or more. In 2013, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Safely.com, an insurtech and guest screening solution for the vacation and short-term rental market. Additionally, in 2001, Andrew founded and served as Head Coach of the SwimAtlanta Masters Team, leading the men's team to a second-place finish at the 2002 National Championships.

Andrew Bate has an educational history that spans from 1996 to 2008. Andrew attended Grafton High School from 1996 to 1998, followed by Creighton University from 1996 to 1998. Andrew then attended Emory University from 1998 to 2001, where they earned a BBA in Business Administration. In 2006, they obtained an MBA from London Business School and in 2007 they attended The Chinese University of Hong Kong on an exchange programme, where they also earned an MBA in Business Administration. In addition, they hold an IATA Travel Agent certification from IATA.
