Lisa Durkin is an experienced professional with a strong background in business development, marketing, and place management. Currently serving as a Business Development Officer at SafeNet Domestic Abuse Services since October 2021, Lisa focuses on fundraising to support families escaping domestic abuse across various refuges and safe houses in Lancashire, Bury, Rochdale, and Oldham. As the Director of PlaceShaper, a marketing and business consultancy, Lisa also oversees PlaceShaper Interiors. Previous roles include Place Consultant at Place Support Partnership, Colne BID Manager, Master Trainer for Digital Business Skills at People 1st International, Town Teams Advisor for the Association of Town & City Management, Associate Lecturer at UCFB, and Town Centre Manager positions in both Bury and Burnley. Lisa holds an MSc in Place Management from The University of Manchester.

SafeNet has been keeping women and children safe from domestic abuse for over forty years. Over the years we have extended our services to all survivors and have developed specialist support for ethnic minority communities, children and young people, those with complex health needs, LGBTQI+ and male survivors. At SafeNet we are proud to deliver fully inclusive and accessible services. Our trauma informed whole organisational approach puts the survivors voice at the centre of all we do. SafeNet protects victims-survivors of domestic abuse through the provision of 24hr safe refuge & support services for women & children, safe houses & 24hr men's safe accommodation. We promote the prevention of further harm, through various initiatives including, working to build safe and healthy relations and promote equality. We offer Community Outreach Services across Lancashire & Gt Manchester, including IDVA services in Bury. We are part of Lancashire Refuges with partner domestic abuse services offering 24 hr refuge accommodation to women & children across Lancashire. In partnership we deliver Healthy Relationship group work interventions in Lancashire high schools as part of the Connect & Respect programme. SafeNet deliver services throughout the North West from bases in Burnley, Pendle, Preston, Lancaster, Rochdale, Bury and Oldham. Empowering survivors to live safer, healthier & happier lives free from abuse, exploitation & violence.
