Harry Alston Jr.

Harry Alston, Jr., Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience. Harry is currently serving as the Sr. Vice President Strategy & Innovation at Safer Foundation, where they provide leadership and strategic direction to extend the impact of the organization in supporting individuals with criminal records. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President Strategic Planning and Development at Safer Foundation, where they utilized research and program development to implement new initiatives for workforce development and personal empowerment solutions.

Previous to their work at Safer Foundation, Harry was the Principal at Alston+Associates and had been with the company since 1999. Harry was also a board member for WFAE from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they served as an associate at Nexgeneracers from 2005 to 2011 and as an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Livingstone College from 2004 to 2011.

Other notable roles in Harry's career include serving as a board member for YDFL from 2009 to 2010 and for the Diversity Council of the Carolinas from 2003 to 2007. Harry also worked as AVP - Project Manager at Bank One - First Card from 1997 to 1999, as a director at RGMA from 1988 to 1993, and as a project manager at Indland Steel Company from 1984 to 1988.

Harry Alston, Jr., Ph.D. completed their first Bachelor's degree in Industrial Administration from Kettering University in the years 1971 to 1977. Harry then pursued an MBA in Marketing and Organizational Development from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business between 1978 and 1980.

Later, they attended Antioch University from 2002 to 2010, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Leadership and Change. Furthermore, they have obtained certification as a Cultural Orientations Approach Practitioner from TMC/Berlitz, though the specific month and year of obtaining this certification is unknown.
